In December, two of Sun Bandit’s most popular water heating systems received Energy Star certification, increasing their appeal for home builders and consumers alike.
Developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Energy Star program identifies products that save money and protect the climate through superior energy efficiency. More than 80 percent of Americans recognize the Energy Star label, according to an EPA survey, and 30 to 45 percent of households report purchasing an Energy Star-qualified product in a given year.
The recent certifications mean Sun Bandit leads the industry as the world’s first ICC-SRCC certified, Energy Star-rated, UL-approved solar photovoltaic water heating system. For home builders used to adding Energy Star appliances to their properties, the addition of a Sun Bandit system to a home can produce increased energy efficiencies and provide multiple marketing advantages.
The EPA’s survey found that nearly all Americans agree that “it is important to save energy in my home” and that “saving energy helps the environment.” The addition of an Energy Star-rated Sun Bandit solar hybrid water heating system can help them do just that.
